ABOUT THE SOAP CONNECTION

The Soap Connection is a  Service Disabled - Veteran Owned and Operated Company.

The Soap Connection was originally started because my husband began to develop an allergy to the normal "grocery store" brand of soap.  The grocery store brands are what I call a “Synthetic Detergent Bar.” This means that the soap is actually some form of lathering chemical (like SLS or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) pressed together to form a bar of soap.

SLS is an irritant like many other detergents, with the irritation increasing with concentration. It has also been shown that SLS causes eye or skin irritation in experiments done on animals and humans. The related surfactant SLS is a known irritant, and research suggests that SLS can also cause irritation after extended exposure in some people. (taken from Wikipedia)

My husband tried numerous different brands  and determined there was only ONE brand that he could actually use.  After looking at the ingredients for this soap , I determined that I could make this at home.   So, I began making the soap and my husband has not looked back since.   I also  found out that I enjoyed making them so much, I decided to branch out and develop more!

However, in the back of my mind, I did not want to just "start another soap business,"  I wanted my business to have a purpose and to help solve a problem.  Well, after doing a little bit of thinking, I figured it out!

For a short period of time I was unemployed and while food and drink were attainable through government assistance and organizations, I realized that hygiene products are not that readily available.  So, if you are underemployed, unemployed or homeless, where can you get items to take a bath and be clean?    So, with that, the idea of "CONNECTING" people through soap was born!

Buy one soap, and another will be made and donated to help those in need stay clean!  Click the tabs above to learn more about this great company!

Thank you in Advance,

Cheryl Reed - Owner
