OUR SOAP INGREDIENTS

We pride ourselves in saying that our soaps have all natural bases, additives and colorants which  will explained here in a few moments.  However, prior to discussing the ingredients let's first address the (1) ingredient that is NOT natural that is found in soap.  This is called "LYE" - AKA -  sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. To address  your concern with LYE, let's look at the true definition of Soap.

SOAP - a substance used with water for washing and cleaning, made of a compound of natural oils or fats with sodium hydroxide or another strong alkali, and typically having perfume and coloring added.

The oils and the lye combine together and harden through a process called Saponifiation.

SAPONIFICATION : The reaction between oils and fats with an alkali, such as "LYE" - AKA Sodium Hydroxide or Potassium Hydroxide to create the final product,  SOAP.

So as you can see by the very definition of “soap”, you cannot have soap without lye. That is like trying to make a baking soda and vinegar volcano without the vinegar. No vinegar and you’ve just got a pile of baking soda. No lye, and you’ve just got a bucket of fat

NATURAL BASES - All of our soaps began with a base of Oils or Goatsmilk.   The oils used, are Olive Oils, Coconut Oils, Hemp Oils, Grapeseed Oils, Castor Oils, etc.....in addition, we will often mix several different ones to make a great soap.

NATURAL ADDITIVES -  we use all natural essential oils, fragrance oils, herbs, otmeal, and almonds when creating my soaps.   Click here for information on Natural Fragrance Oils

NATURAL COLORANTS - we use Natural Mica and Pigment powders, Clays,  Natural Oxide Pigments ,  Chromium Oxide Pigments  and Cocoa Powder.

COCOA POWDER??? - you may ask yourself what benefits does chocolate have in a soap?    Well, my friend,

Chocolate, especially dark chocolate is high with anti-oxidant properties. Cocoa powder, unsweetened is exceptionally good for you. Packed with anti-oxidants, and anti-inflammatory properties, pure cocoa or dark chocolate, can reduce risks from both, degenerative diseases or cancer. The compounds found in cocoa are found in plants that promote healthy cellular development. These compounds also promote healthy skin tissue.

So many benefits for the body, when taken in moderation. It is also great for topical use on the skin. It helps firm and renew skin cells.
